Bring the family for a meal making event at the Upper CDC, Sts. John and Paul!
You will be led by experienced Teen Leaders who will walk you through the process of making a delicious meal for Pittsburgh’s homeless and for those in need. Meals will be served the following week with homeless organizations like Mission from Mars, Outreached Arms, Jubilee Kitchen and Shepherd’s Heart- please sign-up for Meal Service under separate registration. One registration per person please. Brown bagged lunches may also be prepared for distribution through the Zack Pack program with Outreached Arms and Catholic Charities. We will also support Mars Home for Youth.
Bring your apron! Please note young children must be well-supervised. This IS NOT a drop-off event- it is intended for families to serve together.
*No food will be consumed during this event, but people with allergies should use care when registering. Gloves will be worn at all times during food prep. For specific questions about food to be prepared, please contact Krista Kollitz at bkkollitz@aol.com.
**We welcome the following donations- new socks, hand warmers, toothbrushes, travel sized soap, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste; bottled water, juice boxes, non-perishable snack foods, chapsticks, wet wipes, sunscreen, bandaids. Also, new and used hats, gloves, scarves, coats (mens preferred). Items should be brought to event for packaging in Blessing Bags.
We could also use your help to deliver items to some of the local organizations we support, such as Concordia, Mars Home for Youth, Mission from Mars. Please consider helping with this as well! Please contact Natalie Donaldson natdonaldson@yahoo.com for more details or to volunteer for delivery.
